NTSC, dispossessed flapper.

stuck in my deep sea diving suit.

i hate-hate exams and studying. in a perfect world i’d just sit in my sofa, smoke and listen to music all day. i guess i’ll just go on the dole when i graduate and do just that, then (oh, and wear all my clothes once, which typically takes three to four days).

i love-love bumming around and listening to the magnetic fields, though. if it were a profession, i’d have it put on my passport. stephin knows me better than anyone else, and there’s always another magnetic fields song to identify with and get you in a droning, looped downward spiral of schmalzy despair.

right now i feel like the protagonist of the wayward bus’ ’suddenly there is a tidal wave’.

the boys talk like they own the world
the women keep their stupid diaries
but suddenly there is a tidal wave
and everything is swept out to sea

i wish there’d be a tidal wave sweeping EITHER me OR the sinology dept. staff out to sea, preferably to the south sandwich islands (for their name fascinates me). oh well. more korean. more coffee and cigarettes. more smiths songs on repeat. while this might all sound just a tiny bit depressed, i’m actually feeling… complacent. (if it turns out i’ve failed all subjects, i’ll run around in a hysterical frenzy though.)

***

i wish i lived in disneyland.
