licking an-magritts boots for money is fun. i knelt down submissively on the Ruian Rd and Nameless Alley crossroads, while she smirked in her mocking way: ‘lick my boots, young man.’
i also learned that ‘quisling’ is indeed an acceptable word in english, and that he was the norwegian equivalent of judas (ie. quisling sold norway for six shillings and tuppence). yes, we learn every day.
oh and it will be 2007 in like six hours. i’m taut and tame when i think of the substances that will be consumed and the fun that will be had. YAY.

raaaah. this morning i was still a bit doped up on my nightly dose of xanax when i left for school, so i took the right metro line, but in the wrong direction. i enjoyed the spectacular sight of city scenery that wasn’t much like the things i normally see – until a robotic voice said NANJING EAST ROAD STATION! and i realised i was 12 stations away from school.
when i came home at noon, i managed to get my iPod slightly soaked with coke. it worked, and then it completely broke down. BUTTT. i dried it up with my hair drier and set out for the applecare store, where i stated i had never seen anything like it etc. etc.
so at least they’ll replace it in a month. yay to fraud (but not REAL fraud, after all it could have been some unrelated defect that suddenly popped up), boo to xanax!

pop music can be so good. cheesy pop music can be so good. cheesy pop music performed by 46 year old blondes who used to be in a new wave group in the 80s can be so good. especially when they sing christmas carols. aimee mann, marry me.

many people despise agatha christie. she is, however, my favourite author. and this is not even a joke. i know hercule poirot, captain hastings, miss marple et al. are shallow, cardboard constructions, but at least they win all the time, and make you happy.
when i was a little kid, my mother and i would read the hercule poirot mysteries together. IN FRENCH, oh sacrilege. i’m quite severely traumatised by people like ‘madame olivier’, the french nutty scientist woman who wanted to install a global democratic dictatorship, ‘tommy et tuppence’, the ageing spinsters agatha christie concocted to replace poirot when she was already 288 years old, etc.
anyway. i bought my first hercule poirot novel… IN CHINESE. (i already had agatha christies in english, french, dutch, german, italian and spanish). yay. i’ll be an ageing agatha christie collector.

to celebrate some good yet mysterious and precocious news, me and the bf went slutty clubbing yesterday eve. i don’t know what he was up to, but my night featured: sucking on cherry lollipops, dirty dancing with half naked 20 y.o.s, e and coke, thumping techno etc.
then we went to the bfs parents’ christmas lunch. we were both really tripping and forced to drink scotch and homebrew liquor. granny lin then wanted to go to maokong resort to sing karaoke and drink even MORE scotch. this was called to a halt when i realised it was time to go to the anglophone friends’ christmas dinner at some swanky hotel. good food was had, gifts were distributed, and frenching roommate reddylocks was an inevitable consequence.
when i shall receive the pictures, i shall post some. vrolijk kerstfeest darlings.

… can somebody be THIS wickedly evil? I capitalistically demand an explanation!
http://www.spudworks.com/article/66/2/
“Yes Dagny, you silly silly woman, I may seem a slacker to you, but after ten pages of explanation you will know that it is you who slack and it is I who serve a higher cause which will not be explained for another seven hundred pages.”
I call that SUSPENSE.
